Background

On October 2, 2008, on the recommendation of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, United States District Judge Beverly Martin appointed Pat Huddleston and Huddleston Law Firm as Receiver for Nations Warranty Group, Inc., and JW&P Consulting, LLC. The SEC alleges that the defendants violated the registration and anti-fraud provisions of the federal securities laws in connection with the offering of promissory notes, promising annualized returns of between 48 percent and 60 percent per year. Huddleston took control of the businesses the same day. A hearing to consider the SEC's Motion for a Preliminary Injunction is scheduled for October 9, 2008. Huddleston expects to file his first interim report in November. Both the SEC's complaint and the Order appointing the Receiver are available on this site.
